What size of slats or louvers does Kelly recommend for shutters?
Kelly likes big. Simple as that. For that reason you cannot buy Kelly Hoppen Shutters in a 32mm or 47mm slat size. Kelly’s personal favourite is 114mm.
Are large 114m shutters slats not too big?
No, throw caution to the wind! It’s a fallacy that the smaller your room or window, the smaller the slats should be for your shutters. In fact, in her design, Kelly adopts the opposite approach. Big objects, wide floorboards, large pieces of furniture or large shutter slats or panels, can help open up a room and make it feel larger.
Do wide shutter panels not make opening them difficult?

So narrower or wider shutter panels?

If having a design that means you’ll open the panels regularly, then go for narrower shutter panels which will fold onto each other
