In an age where so much of what we buy has been made by machine or manufactured as part of an automated manufacturing process, it’s unusual to find a product that’s genuinely hand crafted from start to finish.
Kelly Hoppen Shutters is a new brand of plantation shutters created through a collaboration between UK interior designer Kelly Hoppen MBE and leading UK shutter company Shutterly Fabulous. The brand has been created in response to Kelly’s desire to have an architectural plantation shutter, in a range of colours and finishes which embody the style of Kelly Hoppen Design.
The range has been designed by Kelly herself. The colours and finishes have been central to the range, with Kelly providing an assortment of items as ‘colour inspiration’ to the Shutterly team to create the palette for her shutter range.
The result, as Kelly herself testified, was sensational. “Never, has a partner created a palette that so perfectly matches what I’ve envisaged and tried to achieve with my designs”
Delighted Director Mark Carter continues, “It was a difficult task but our team have worked exceptionally hard to achieve the end result. The unique overwashed stains were a real challenge as they require a level of detail and hand finishing that is not only meticulous but extremely time consuming. To stain 1 square meter of shutter takes 40 man hours – quite incredible when you think about it”
